Welcome to the Kambah Pony Club website.

The joys of learning how to ride are not only one of life's little luxuries but a way of life.

The early stages of learning how to ride are critical for the future development of both rider and pony. Confidence, and trust between the two is built up over a period of time.  However, it can disappear as quickly as a sugar cube in water if a young rider is in an environment where they feel they are not supported.

At Kambah Pony Club, we focus on the education of the young rider in a friendly, supportive environment, and cater to the varying abilities and needs of all our members.

Sign-up & Rally Days
Due to the fact that a lot of us will be away for the beginning of January, the sign-up day and rally day weekend will be held on the weekend of the 21st & 22nd of January.

Saturday 21st
Sign-up from 1 till 3pm.
Bring your children as we are hoping to keep them busy painting jump poles while the adults do paperwork etc…
(also feel free to bring any maintenance/cleaning equipment you have. The grounds could always do with some work/tidying done)

If you are planning to attend the rally day on Sunday, bring your pony as well so that he/she can have a sleep over (and so that you don’t have to get up as early on the rally day).

Sunday 22nd
First rally day of the year!

Gear Check 8.30am for 9am start

Please note that no one will be able to ride if they have not signed up!

December Rally day

The December rally day was a bit of a wash out in more ways than one. The weather gods didnt look at us in a posibtive light and opened up the heavens to give us a spot of rain and so the day was made a no horse day.

When it did stop the sun came out and gave the members the opportunity to have water fights and I was there to capture the moments.

We also had a special visitor from Santa.

Check out the photos are they are a hoot.

Kambah Pony Club wins "Smartest Pony Club in Parade"

On Sunday we had a team represent KPC at the Hall under 13 Gymkhana, and I must say it was a fantastic day. We had a great turn out and the weather was AWSOME!!!!!

Our team did us proud in their individual events but they really shined when it came to the teamed events, with most of our team placing first.

The best part of the day was when all the pony clubs got together and performed a mass parade around the main grounds, with all the judges watching on.  The competition was tough but Kambah Pony Club pulled through with a great exhibition of how we really stick together and our team spirit.  The judges also saw how great they looked and awarded them the “Smarted Club in Parade”!!!!!!

Well done you have made us all proud.

Have a look at some of the photos from the day and photos of our winning team along with the trophy.

June Rally day

Well what a cold and windy day we had for this months rally day, however given that it was also a long weekend and most people leave Canberra we still had a good turn out.

Gymkhana canceled

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our Gymkhana due to factors out of our control. :(

It is a shame as the Gymkhana is one of our major fund raisers.

Dec Rally day photos

I have uploaded the photos from our last rally day and I must say in terms of the grass being green, the difference between last year and this year was amazing. Last year it was 35+ degrees and the ground was blown dry, this year I could actually see green grass. :)

For the end of year games, this year we had a giant ball that the members could use their horses to kick around the paddock. Check it out!

Importance of a confident rider

Being a confident rider is not only about how you are as a rider but how you interact with your horse.

Horse Float and reversing Camera all in one

Getting your horse into the float is the easy part. The stress of the travel is the difficult part. :)

If you are anything like my wife she is more concerned about the welfare of the horsed in the float than the other traffic on the road. She is forever trying to look, turn around or just do anything to see if the horses are OK.

Now I must say I feel safe once again and she can stop all that worry. The smart people from Horse-See have come up with a smart and easy way to keep an eye on your trusty steed, without risking life and limb to do so.

The best thing is that Kambah Pony Club has arranged a special discount for our members and friends. Have a look at the attached information sheet for more information and how to order.
